1. Remove as much solid material as possible with a spatula or spoon.
2. Freeze until solid with ice cubes.
3. Chip off remaining gum.
4. Apply paint thinner with a Q-tip. (Test an inconspicuous area first. This may permanently damage the carpet).
5. Lay a stack of paper towels on top of the affected area.
6. Weight paper towels with a flat heavy object such as a phone book until totally dry.
