Try this first:

1. Absorb as much liquid as possible by gently blotting with paper towels.
2. Mix 2 cups hot water with 1 tsp. gentle laundry detergent, such as Woolite.
3. Using a squirt bottle or mister, apply solution and blot. Repeat several times.
4. Lay a stack of paper towels on top of the affected area.
5. Weight paper towels with a flat heavy object such as a phone book until totally dry.

If it does not work, try this:

1. Remove as much solid material with a spatula or spoon.
2. Apply paint thinner with a Q-tip. (Test an inconspicuous area first. This may permanently damage the carpet).
3. Lay a stack of paper towels on top of the affected area.
4. Weight paper towels with a flat heavy object such as a phone book until totally dry.
